ARTICLE 15/06/2025

The Croatian Guitar Quartet performed on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Central Stage of Commons C at EXPO 2025 Osaka, in excellent cooperation with the Directorate for Public and Cultural Diplomacy, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. The Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Japan, Mr. Dražen Hrastić, and the Director of the Croatian Pavilion, Mr. Edouard Tripković Katayama addressed the audience before the beginning of the musical performance.

The Quartet's concert program covered almost all musical eras. The program included musical works by Luigi Boccherini, Edvard Grieg, Astor Piazzolla, Sergei Prokofiev, Vivaldi, and Croatian composers Zoran Juranić, Anđelko Klobučar, Miroslav Miletić, Luka Sorkočević, and Gordan Tudor.

The Croatian Guitar Quartet is a relatively young ensemble composed of prominent guitar virtuosos and long-time colleagues: Zoran Dukić, Petrit Çeku, Maroje Brčić and Tvrtko Sarić. They held their first joint concert in 2016, and in 2020, they began performing under the name Croatian Guitar Quartet. Since their foundation, they have performed in Croatia, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic on several concert tours, as well as in concerts with the Zagreb Soloists and the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra. Their programs feature a wide range of styles, with a special emphasis on repertoire and new works by Croatian composers. At the Dubrovnik Summer Festival in 2017, they were awarded for their concert with the Orlando Award.

In 2020, the Quartet, in collaboration with four other fellow guitarists (Morana Pešutić, Pedro Riberio Rodrigues, Tomislav Vukšić, and Krešimir Bedek), released the album Guitarrismo, which was nominated for the Porin music award in two categories.
